I’d read her description with a sinking feeling, a mix of awe and exhaustion. She’s up before dawn, her lamp doesn’t go out at night, she considers a field and buys it, she works with eager hands, she makes linen garments and sells them, she supplies merchants with sashes.

I don’t know how other people do it. I really don’t. There are people who respond to every message instantly—like, do they have a PA for their WhatsApp? A dedicated message-responding intern? How do they balance work, relationships, self-care, eating, breathing, and still reply to texts within 0.3 seconds?
I’ve recently discovered that decluttering entails more than simply purging our physical stuff—it also means opening room for peace, joy, and God’s presence. Because we can’t hear Him very well if our minds are cluttered with concerns, distractions, never-ending to-do lists.
Princess Margaret had it right – sometimes, you just need to step away from the to-do lists, take a deep breath, and live in the moment. Enjoy a random coffee date, say yes to an unexpected trip, or even just have a lazy Saturday without a single item checked off your schedule (shocking, I know!) .
Let’s face it. It can be wearing to always be the “strong” one. Whether it’s in your family or friend group, at your church, or the person who always seems to keep your office running smoothly, there’s that one person who makes it all work. The go-to. The encourager. The one who always knows the answers and the strength — even when they are running on fumes.
I have learned that if I don’t pour into myself, there’s not much left to give to those I love. That’s why I’m so intentional about nurturing the habits that make me feel like me.
